I received an email, where can I unsubscribe?
Short answer: every marketing email we send has an unsubscribe link in the footer. Scroll to the bottom of the email and click unsubscribe. That is one click, it takes effect immediately, and you do not need an account or a password.
If you no longer have the email, or it was forwarded to you and the link is not yours, use the self-serve page instead:
Enter the address the email arrived at and confirm. We remove that address right away.
But I unsubscribed before
You are almost certainly right, and we are sorry. This one is our mistake.
We recently moved our customer and billing data to a new system, because the tool we had been using was discontinued and we had to migrate everything out of it before it went away. Some unsubscribes did not survive that move. The addresses came across correctly, but the flag saying "this person asked not to be emailed" did not always come with them, so a small number of people who had already opted out ended up back on the list.
That is not a decision anyone made, and it is not an attempt to win you back. It is simply a mistake in a data migration, and it landed in your inbox. Sorry for that.
It will not happen again. Unsubscribes now live in our own system rather than a third party's, and the list is applied on every single send. If you unsubscribe using the link in any email or the page above, it sticks.
If you would rather we deleted your details altogether instead of just stopping the emails, ask us at [email protected] and we will do that.
Make sure you use the right address
We remove the exact address you give us. If an email reaches you through a group address, a forwarder or a shared inbox (team@, info@, an alias), the address on our list is the one the mail was originally sent to, not the one it landed in.
The quickest way to find it: open the email and look at the To header. That is the address to enter.
What unsubscribing does and does not stop
It stops: our monthly app update and any other marketing email from us.
It does not stop:
- Replies to a support request you started. If you write to us, you get an answer.
- Operational notices about an app you have installed, such as a warning that you are close to your plan limit or that your workflows are failing. These are not marketing, and turning them off is done inside the app that sends them, not here.
If you want to stop the operational emails from a specific app, open that app in your Shopify admin and look for its notification settings.
It is not working, or you are still getting email
Give it a moment first: a send that was already on its way when you unsubscribed can still arrive.
If email keeps coming after that, reply to any of our emails, or write to [email protected] with the address that is still receiving it. We will find it and remove it by hand.
Changed your mind?
There is no self-serve way back on the list, on purpose: an unsubscribe should be hard to undo by accident. Just email us and ask, and we will add you back.
